Introduction to Review Queues and Specialty Workflows
After configuring your workflows and rules, risky orders will route to either the General Review Queue or a specialty workflow queues. Learn more in the
Create a Workflow article.
Watch this short video and then continue reading below for more details.
Analysts should check these queues on a daily or hourly basis. To do this, go to the left navigation and click Review Queue to open up a sub-menu with several options.
General Review Queue
The General Review Queue is a list of all transactions that were not automatically rerouted by a custom rule to a specialty workflow and require a manual review.
The General Review Queue has a 3 step review process.
Open — these are orders that should be reviewed but have not been claimed by another analytics or assigned to a specialty workflow queue (the are unlocked or unclaimed).
In Progress — these are orders that are currently being reviewed by an analyst (they are locked or claimed).
Make a Decision — after an analyst has reviewed an order they can
make a decision regarding the order to approve, cancel, or forward the order to a specialty workflow for further review or approval.
Specialty Workflows
Specialty workflows are accessible by clicking Review Queue > Pending in the main menu. Here, you'll find orders that require additional attention. Orders are sent to these specialty workflows automatically by a rule—which bypasses the General Review Queue. An order can also be rerouted manually from the In Progress Queue using the Make a Decision button.
Locking and Unlocking Orders
An order is automatically locked when an analyst opens the order and sends it to the In Progress workflow. The order locks because that analyst has claimed the order for review and no other analyst should review the order.
At any time, an analyst can unlock an order by clicking the unlock icon at the top of the page and the order will return to the General Review Queue.
An administrator can manually lock an order by clicking the lock icon at the top of the Order Detail page.
Switching Workflows
An order can be rerouted to any workflow with the Make a Decision button. If an order is not currently in a workflow, choose a workflow in the Make a Decision feature. The order will reroute to the General Review Queue. Likewise, any order can also be sent to a specialty workflow with the Make a Decision feature (choose a workflow and then choose a specialty workflow).
